"Hair Braiding" became a viable business on Grand Bahama Island after the movie ‘10', starring Bo Derek, was released in 1979. Licensed braiders can be found at both the International Bazaar and Port Lucaya Marketplace.

If you decide to indulge your fantasy, please use licensed braiders only to ensure you receive the established rates, which are as follows: 

• French braid - $10.00
• Single/corn row braid - $2.00 
• 1/4 head - $30.00 
• 1/2 head - $60.00 
• Whole head - $120.00
• Solid beads - Free 
• Silver/gold beads - Free
• Shell, Wooden & Designed Beads - $.50
• Extensions - $5.00-10.00 
• Hair wrap - $10.00-20.00
