What type of government does The Bahamas have? 
The Bahamas Parliament consists of Her Majesty The Queen, The Upper House which is the Senate and the Lower House which is the House of Assembly. This arrangement is described as Bicameral Legislature. 

Does each island have its own government? 
There is one government that represents all of The Islands of The Bahamas, which is the Free National Movement (FNM) Government. However, each island elects Members of Parliament to represent it in Nassau, the country's capital. 

Is The Bahamas a British colony? 
The Bahamas has not been a British Colony since July 10, 1973, when it gained its independence.
