The
restaurant has always been Graycliff's more public and
more glamorous side. However, among discerning
guests the inn has long been known for its equally
elegant, quietly discreet accommodations. There are
not many rooms at Graycliff--only fourteen chambers and
suites in all--but each is a creation as refined and
irresistibly inviting as the finest of the inn's vintage
wines. The chambers within the mansion itself
retain an admirable sense of their romantic past, having
been carefully appointed, like the rest of the inn, with
antique English furnishings. In addition, there are a number of spacious poolside and cottage suites, each with its own particular style, atmosphere, and comfort. The inn itself is a landmark building, duly listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Its original Georgian beauty, which seems to have become deeper and more subtle over the centuries, is carefully preserved and complemented by traditional decor and fine antiques. |
The luxuriant greenery of the tropics holds sway on the grounds, where the Olympic-size pool nestles amid bougainvillea and swaying palms. The property itself is tucked away behind a vine-covered stone wall, just across from the Government House and quietly removed from the bustling excitement of Nassau. |
