It is done in the Moderne style, with rooms decorated with antiques retrieved from various museums. Its convenient location is in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg, across the street from St. Isaaks cathedral. The Hermitage is only a 10-minute walk away. 230 240
Nevsky Palace Modern and spacious, this five-star hotel was refashioned on the site of an old building, but it is completely new. The Nevsky is popular with the business elite and well-located on Nevsky avenue. 250 300

Moskva Located near Alexander Nevsky Monastery, this Brezhnev-era hotel is the best located of the Intourist hotels, and many groups stay here. 80 100
Karelia Built for the 1980 Olympics, the Karelia has Soviet-era architecture. While the decor is less than attractive, the furnishings, however, were imported from Finland. Downtown is a 30-minute drive. 65 80
