As far as car rental goes, we were very pleased with G & L Car Rental, right at the airport. Be sure wherever you do rent from that you make sure they offer an exchange on Nevis if you plan to go there for the day. This is a free service from some companies, but not all.
As far as accommodations go, anyone on this board will tell you my husband and I love to stay at TBR Timothy Beach Resort. We have also stayed at Island Paradise and were very happy there as well. We just like the fact that TBR has a restaurant, has large suites, and is oceanfront to the Caribbean waters which are very calm and perfect for snorkeling and swimming. They were also more family priced. Island Paradise, the Sealofts, Jack Tar, Papillon, and Marriott (not open yet) are all waterfront to the Atlantic, which is very rough and not good for swimming or snorkeling. You will have to walk to TBR's beach or rent a car to go out to the Southeast Peninsula for phenominal snorkeling at South Friar's Bay.
