Hi Diane -
The Palms Hotel is certainly showing it's age, the rooms could use an overhaul. But it's typical wear and tear kind of stuff that needs work. It's on the second level over looking the circus. If your room is on the front of the building over looking the Circus it can be pretty loud at night. The larger suite rooms are huge, the other rooms are pretty much your standard sized hotel room. It's clean, cheap, convenient. Certainly not a 4 star establishment. I wouldn't stay there for longer than a day or two as there's no pool and it's not on beach front which I tend to want in a hotel if I'm on vacation. But it's completely fine for a layover before going over to Nevis.
