Q: What was your perspective on the swimming/beach at the Marriott?

A: The pools are lovely although not shaped for laps. The beach has lots of shade. They set up rocks to break the waves. It's very windy. There's some seaweed. Nice walks in either direction. On the whole very pleasant.

Q: Is the steakhouse open yet?

A: Not yet. Another post here says July. Food is good at the hotel but lacks variety (in my opinion) and isn't cheap.

Q: Were you upgraded?

A: No. We didn't ask for one. $95 with breakfast seemed like a good enough deal without asking for more.

Q: Any other tips, suggestions, must-dos?

A: The hotel is great for relaxation, but otherwise no meaningful activities there that I noticed (perhaps a yoga class if you're interested). Two activities on and around the island I recommend are the sunset cruise (including snokeling) for $50 per person and a rain forest hike. The hotel travel office arranged a guided hike for us for $60 for two people.

Happy to provide for details or answer other questions.
