Stan,
Thanks again for the info. Grand Cayman was fabulous! We went in January, and I don't know where you're flying from, but Continental flies nonstop from Newark, NJ, which was great! A real jet!! I found a fare (booked it in Sept) for $275.00!! That was an incredible price for the dead of winter to a caribbean island! We started out at the Westin (which you may like if you're a snob, and like a small room)! However, we moved over to the Marriott. Their beach was smaller, because of a hurricane, but it may be completely back by now. The employees were soooo much friendlier at the Marriott. The rooms were bigger, and we liked our 1st floor room, because I could nap my kids and sit at the pool! There is a ferry out to Rum Point which is a great place to hang out for the day and snorkel. Stingrays in front of you! Right in front of the hotel was some great snorkeling, too. My son and my husband are avid fishermen, but the charters were more than 500/1/2 day. That was one of the problems there, everything was sooo expensive! We haven't graduated to diving yet, but I hear it's incredible. Also, I have never seen water as beautiful as it was there. We didn't rent a car, took a taxi everywhere. They drive on the "wrong" side of the road to us! They Hyatt was beautiful, too, and they are building a Ritz Carlton, which has Penthouses for sale starting at 3 million $$ if you're interested!!

Is there a ferry over to Nevis or another island? How long is it, and how much $$? How long was the flight from San Juan, and was it bumpy? I hate those small planes! I'm figuring by Feb. the Marriott should be in full swing, and pretty crowded, as it is school break. I understand it's a small island and not so crowded. We also considered Aruba, but I think it's going to be crowded, and I love the idea of a new hotel. The pix online are beautiful! Is the ocean right in front of the hotel really rough? We are used to some waves, but I don't want to scare the kids.

Again, thanks for your time. If you want any more info. on Cayman, please ask.
