My husband and I stayed at Nisbet last year and had a great time. The setting is lovely, the staff very friendly and helpful, the food is excellent, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the service is top-notch. This is a well run resort with "old world charm". The beach at Nisbet is very attractive, with white sand, palm trees, hammocks, lounge chairs, etc. They have an excellent beach bar and you can walk to secluded beaches. There is a constant breeze coming off the ocean which helps keep you comfortable all day long. The only drawback is the resort is on the Atlantic side and although there is a reef about 1/4 mile off shore the water can get a bit wavy at times.
Golden Rock is located up in the mountains. It is in a converted sugar plantation. We have not stayed there but have gone there for lunch and dinner. The resort is small, the rooms we saw were tastefully decorated. The view across the water is nice and on a clear day you can see neighboring islands of Rodonda and Montserat. We had an excellent lobster salad at lunch but were disappointed that our dinner was only average. Golden Rock has a pavillion at Pinney's Beach which is a 20 minute drive from the hotel.
If you are looking for a plantation in the mountains check out Montpelier Inn. That is an exceptional small resort, with superb food, attractive well furnished rooms, excellent staff and attentive owners. Montpelier has its own private beach not too far from the Four Seasons. When we were there they provided free shuttle service to the beach.
Hope this helps.
