Hard to say which is better as they are three distinctly different properties and I learned long ago what appeals to me may not be another person's cup of tea. My spouse and I have been repeat guests at all three so perhaps this will help YOU decide for yourself.
Nisbet is the largest of the three (about 38 rooms). They have a great staff that prides themselves on personal service. The resort has great food and a terrific location on it's own beach. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained but not lavishly appointed. Choose Nisbet if you like the feel of a small friendly beach resort that offers a touch of old world charm.
Montpelier is much smaller (8 or 10 rooms) located in a restored sugar plantation. Like Steve A. said in his post the mountain setting is very romantic, especially at night. The rooms are well appointed with antiques, the food superb, the staff is attentive and friendly. They have a private beach area just down the road from the Four Seasons (15 to 20 minute drive from Mountpelier). Select Montpelier if you enjoy the intimacy of staying at a small but elegant Bed & Breafast inn.
Hermitage is a family run operation, similar in size to Montpelier. The small seperate cottages (about 12 or so) are a bit rustic when compared to the other two places but functional (they are, however, the only ones with TV's in the rooms). The food is generally quite good but not on the same par as Nisbet or Montpelier (my personal favorite). The family recently acquired property on the beach near the Four Seasons so it will have a place for guests to swim and have lunch (check with the hotel to find out more). Pick Hermitage if you want to experience the pleasure of staying with old friends in a rural setting.
