We were in Nevis in Oct 2003 and stayed at Golden Rock in the sugar mill. We enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back. Pam Barry is wonderful and Golden Rock has great food, fabulous views, nature trails and monkeys. What more could you ask for?

We rented a car and enjoyed having the freedom to come and go as we pleased. Two thirds of the island is newly paved and an easy drive and while the last third is rather bumpy we had no problems. Be sure to visit the other plantation hotels. They are used to having people stop by for a drink and a look around. At Nisbet some go for lunch and spend the afternoon on their beach.

As for the beach pavillons, they are on Pinney's Beach and Sunshine's in the most famous. Pinney's Beach is lovely but take your sunblock as there is little shade and a friend got badly burned in just a few hours.

I loved Nevis and would go back tomorrow if possible.
