Mike,
There should be plenty going on around town, Arawak Cay will have some celebrations, fireworks etc. I'm sure Atlantis will have fireworks also.
Nassau Beach Hotel should be a good choice for you and the family, great beach and very nice staff. You should be able to find the jetski and parasailing guys on the east side of the beach. Parasailing goes for about $75. You can try and negotiate with them to bring that down. There's plenty of great tours around town. For a real adventure, perhaps your daughter would like to try a resort course in scubadiving. Morning pool class and a shallow reef dive in the afternoon. It's an unforgettable adventure. It runs about $100pp, but is well worth it. Most dive shops give this course. Your daughter should talk to some of the wait staff or bar tender to see what's going on around town for teens. (You realize that all the clubs will let her in and serve her, so use that information wisely, pop?) Pick up a copy of What's on or Tourist New in the lobby, it will give you scoop on what's happening around town.

Cafe Johnny Canoes is a fun nite for family. Fridays' they usually have a junkanoo rush.. great food, great band, great staff.
Senor Frogs should be a good pick also, plus Cheekey Monkey and Conch Fritters.

As for the Jitney, you can pick it up just outside the hotel driveway. It will stop for you if you hail it down, they pass by every few minutes. $1pp, exact change only. It will let you off downtown, just steps from the wharf. The ferries run back and forth to Paradise Island from 9am to 6pm daily. $3pp.

Have a wonderful trip!
