Planning Your Ceremony

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism's People-to-People programme, offers a complimentary service that can help you to plan any type of wedding, or you may organize it on your own. If desired, a reception can be arranged or a cake and champagne purchased through the hotel at a cost. Ministry of Tourism staff attend all weddings and work closely with couples to ensure that everything meets their needs. Officers can be contacted at the Tourist Information Center in Rawson Square, Nassau, on or before arrival, at (242) 328-7810, (242) 326-5371 or (242) 326-9772; the fax number is (242) 328-0945. Office hours are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

To assist you in estimating costs, following are some of the charges you can expect:

Marriage Officer $100.00
Affidavit (U.S. Embassy) $10.00
Affidavit (Notary Public) $40.00
Florist Bouquet $25.00 and up
Boutonniere $7.00
Transportation $50.00 per hour
Rental of Tuxedos $65.00 and up
($125 refundable deposit required)
Video $175 and up
Photographer $175 and up
(36 pictures/negatives; photos other than
wedding ceremony at additional cost.)
Departure Tax of $15 / $18

Music:

Steel Drum Band $550.00 per hour
Organ Music in Church $150.00 per hour
Violinist $100 per hour
Soloist $100 per hour
Violin and Flute $200.00 per hour
Violin, Flute and Clarinet $300.00 per hour

The Classic Wedding

The quaint, impressive charm of the 14th Century "French Cloisters" on Paradise Island, take you back in time as you stroll through its classic columns, overlooking Nassau's harbour.

The Tropical Wedding

With tropical flowers blooming and warm fragrant air surrounding you, weddings can be held on the hotel grounds or any of the botanical gardens throughout the Islands of The Bahamas. The bougainvillea, hibiscus, gardenias and poinciana make beautiful and unique wedding bouquets.

The Romantic Wedding

Any one of the number of islets and uninhabited cays, with their rugged shoreline that hug the Atlantic, or one of the numerous sandy beaches, provide an ideal backdrop where your "I Do" will be to the accompaniment of waves splashing up on the beach.

The Party Boat Wedding

Nuptial vows are exchanged on a festive party boat, cruising the serene waters of The Islands with the sun setting in the background, followed by dancing on board into the night.

The Aquatic Wedding

Coral Island offers a delightful glimpse of Nassau's underwater marine life, which can bear witness to your ceremony. Wearing a bathing suit or formal wedding attire, you are surrounded by the aquamarine waters, colourful coral reef and tropical marine life.
