Air Jamaica and the New York Office of the Antigua/Barbuda Department of Tourism Conclude a Series of Product Seminars

New York, NY… December 11, 2003 – Air Jamaica and the New York Office of Antigua and Barbuda Department of Tourism, concluded a series of informative Product Seminars last evening in Trumbull, Connecticut. Seminars were also held in New York City and in New Rochelle, New York.

These events were hosted to promote Air Jamaica’s new, non-stop service which becomes effective January 29, 2004 and will operate four times weekly from J.F.K. International Airport to V.C. Bird International Airport.

Feedback from the Retail Travel Agents, as well as Wholesalers and Tour Operators in the U.S. Market is all positive, since this flight will not only create more airlift, but will also provide premium seats for the upscale hotels’ clients with the convenience of a non-stop flight.

The events were well attended and it was an opportunity for the New York Office to update the Agents on all the new and positive activities taking place on the twin-island destination. Mr. David Fernandez, Director of Tourism (USA) said, “The promotion of this service will continue on December 18th with a major Press Luncheon where over 50 journalists are expected to attend.” He continued, “The exposure that Antigua and Barbuda will get from this Press Conference will no doubt assist in boosting in-bound traffic to our destination.”

In the meantime, a monthly e-fax broadcast to remind Agents of this service will continue. Also planned are a series of familiarization trips and press trips.
