PM BIRD CUTS RIBBON TO OPEN ULTRA MODERN ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX 

St. John's: April 28th, 2003......Prime Minister Lester Bird, earlier this evening performed the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon to open a new multi-million dollar entertainment complex at Jolly Harbour, some eleven miles from the Capital, St. John's, on Antigua's South West.

The three storey Grand Princess Entertainment Complex which is owned by investor Tony Valardi and features a roof-top spa which offers a enthralling view of the surrounding villages and the Caribbean Sea, with a view of the neighbouring island of Montserrat on a clear day. 

According to Valardi, the complex in all of its splendour, will offer its patrons a unique and un-rivalled experience in gaming, fine dinning and superior melodies. 

"The seventy-one thousand square feet facility houses a casino with 24 tables and 250 Slot Machines. There is also a night club, a restaurant with a a la carte menu, a casino that offers the very best in the gaming business and the ground floor has several boutiques that market, jewellry, designer fashions and Cuban cigars among others. There is also an Internet Cafe and Sportsbook and a world class restaurant which specialises in a fine a la carte Mediterranean cuisine."

In a capsule address to the gathering before cutting the ribbon, Prime Minister Lester Bird commended Mr. Valardi for his insight and dedication as he has worked hard over the years to assist in the development of Antigua and Barbuda. Mr. Bird also called upon nationals to work hard to improve their work ethic stressing that service is not servitude. He pointed out to them that the Grand Princess entertainment Complex is the very best of its kind in the region, and called on all to share in its development.

Also addressing the gathering was Tourism Minister Molwyn Joseph, and specially invited guest, the world famous boxing referee, Joe Cortez.
