NEW JOLLY BEACH CHEF MEETS CHALLENGE OF
FIVE RESTAURANTS AND ALL-INCLUSIVE FORMAT
St. John’s, Antigua; December 2002 – Chef Nigel Casford Gore is a welcome addition to the staff at Jolly Beach Resort. At Antigua’s largest resort with 462 rooms and an all-inclusive format, the role of the chef and his staff is a main ingredient in creating a satisfying vacation experience. It’s a challenge that Chef Gore has met and mastered.
When asked to comment on Chef Gore’s style and two words are commonly used; “creative” and “innovative”. He is also a perfectionist who is not afraid to blend Caribbean and European styles of cuisine, an important trait at a resort whose daily menus include Greek, Caribbean, and Italian fare.
Chef Gore began his career at the age of eighteen training at the Castle Harbour Hotel in Antigua. He went on to develop his skills at Johnson and Wales University, well known for its college of culinary arts, and has held positions at a number of restaurants and resorts on the island and abroad most recently at Antigua’s high-profile Jumby Bay Resort. While at Jumby Bay he was featured in the “Healthy Lifestyle Cookbook” written by Robin Leach.
One of his priorities is training his staff, as his belief is that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. And he is very good at it. He says further, "My individual goal is to carry on the spirit of the culinary profession based both on a firm tradition and the introduction of new concepts "
A native Antiguan, Chef Gore has been awarded with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Antigua and Barbuda Department of Tourism for his contribution toward the advancement of tourism.
Jolly Beach Resort is set on a scenic 40-acre estate with a mile of superb white sand beach and an 8,000 sq. ft. signature Fantasy Pool including waterfalls and a Jacuzzi, curving around a choice of restaurants and bars. The all-inclusive rate for Standard accommodation is $140 per person, per night based on double occupancy now through December 20, 2002, and from $150 per person December 21, 2002 – April 15, 2003, including all food, drinks and most activities.
