MORE TRAVEL AGENTS FROM THE U. S. VISIT ANTIGUA

New York, NY, May 22 ……BWIA arrives today with a group of Travel Agents from the United States on a four day familiarization tour of the destination. This tour is sponsored by the airline and Allegro Resort Pineapple Beach.

The agents, numbering thirteen, are from Staten Island, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Long Island. They are accompanied on the flight from New York (JFK) by George Arakelian, BWIA’s Rep, and Andy Parker, the hotel’s Rep in the U. S.

Antigua and Barbuda’s Director of Tourism in the USA, David Fernandez stated that this Fam Trip is a continuing effort of the New York Department of Tourism to boost tourism arrivals from the United States. He further states that he is presently in negotiations to bring more travel agents to the destination. This he says is an important aspect of the marketing plan since travel agents account for nearly 80% of our business.
