Royal Castle Antigua Opens to Huge Crowds
GOVERNMENT IS COMMITTED TO HELPING LOCAL BUSINESSMEN
February, 2002 -- Antigua’s newest fast food restaurant Royal Castle located in the Deluxe Entertainment Complex on High Street began operations on Saturday 16th February on a high and busy note.
Owner and Managing Director of the establishment Mr. Max Fernandez says that Royal Castle is providing a wide variety of quality products with a Caribbean flavour served by a highly trained staff.
Mr. Fernandez says that his establishment, which subscribes to the high standards synonymous with Royal Castle Caribbean, is providing employment to a number of nationals who received intense training in Trinidad for three weeks in food handling and preparation and customer service skills.
He had high praises for the government which provided a number of concessions in getting the project off the ground and noted that its very significant because the company is uniquely Antiguan and Caribbean not only in ownership and management but in the products served.
Mr. Fernandez pointed out that a number of enterprises on the island would benefit from Royal Castle being in operation, because some of the products will come from local suppliers including Coca Cola, which is made locally by the Antigua Brewery.
On its opening day hundreds of patrons converged on the premises with queues extending outside of the building, eager to get a taste of the spicy rotisserie or fried chicken, sandwiches, fish and veggie burgers, fries and zesty Caribbean sauces.
Royal Castle Antigua, which patrons described as youth and family friendly, is part of the expansion plans of the Deluxe Entertainment Complex, which will feature three cinemas. The entire complex is expected to become operational by the end of February.
