BAHAMAS HISTORICAL SOCIETY MUSEUM
An ongoing exhibition, displaying A RESERVOIR OF HISTORY, comprising a collection and preservation of historic, anthropological and archaeological Bahamian artifacts. Hours: Monday 10am – 1pm. PIRATES OF NASSAU
[Nassau/Paradise Island] OPENED AUGUST 31, '98. A world-class interactive, historical exhibit, dating back to the age of piracy and lawlessness in Nassau of 1716. Special exhibits of infamous pirates such as Blackbeard, Anne Bonny and Mary Read, with audio and other special effects. Composed of a pirate retail store, conference room, courtyard snack shop and full service bar -- handicap-accessible. Location: Marlborough & George Streets, downtown. Museum hours: Mon. - Sat. 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday 9 a.m. 12 p.m. Duration: A 30- to 45-minute tour. Admission: $12 adults; $6 one child under 12 free per adult. BALCONY HOUSE
The original design of this wooden house was a transplant oflate 18th century southeast American architecture. The present design and furnishings, recently restored between 1992 and 1993, have sought to recapture the ambience of this historic period. Admission: Free, however donations are welcome. NASSAU BOTANIC GARDENS
[Nassau/Paradise Island] An 18-acre Botanic Garden featuring over 600 species of flora and plant life. Take the kids along to frolic in the special children’s area. Location: Chippingham Road off West Bay Street. Hours: Mon. - Fri. 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Sat. & Sun. 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Admission: $1 Adults; $0.50 Children. ARDASTRA GARDENS, ZOO & CONSERVATION CENTRE
[Nassau/Paradise Island] A spectacular botanic garden and zoo that showcases an array of over 300 birds, reptiles and mammals.
